Conozco una canción de África que habla de la jirafa y de la luna nueva africana descansando sobre su lomo, de los surcos en los campos de cultivo y de las caras sudorosas de los recolectores de café. Acaso conoce África una canción que hable de mí? ¿Se agitará el aire sobre la llanura con un color que yo he llevado? ¿O tal vez los niños inventarán un juego en el cual figure mi nombre? ¿Formará la luna llena una sombra sobre la grava del camino que se parezca a mí? ¿O tal vez me buscarán las águilas de las colinas de Ngong?
